Depends on how you define "good and powerful and stable". Gnome 3.14 and KDE 4.14 are certainly solid and stable on Fedora 21, as are Mate, XFCE, and LXDE. Whether or not you like one or another, or if it does what you want the way you want, is a different and subjective matter.
