I use wifi tethering daily at work. There is no hotspot facility on the BQ Ubuntu edition. I know they are working on it but does anyone know when this will happen approximately ?

You are aware that the Ubuntu Phone is built on the Ubuntu 14.10 code base. I have heard that development has switched to the 15.04 code base and existing Ubuntu phones will get an Over The Air update of this code. It may bring a fix for this problem.
Ubuntu 15.04 is the base for the Ubuntu Phone currently shipping on the BQ Aquaris E4.5 and in due course on the Meizu MX4. The latest 15.04 updates will be delivered OTA (over-the-air) in coming weeks meeting Canonical’s commitment to the mobile as an extension of Ubuntu on the desktop and cloud: a secure platform that is always up-to-date.
Regards
Would be nice if this is implemented in the settings menu
I have the same problem as you jackstar I've bought the bq the last week and now I am considering to return it
I think wifi tethering will come eventually, so I will keep my phone. I need it for the call logging system my work uses as my Nexus 10 is only wifi. In the meantime I am running the application on the phone. It's a bit small but not as difficult as I thought.
