I bought a BQ Aquaris E4.5 from Ebay. Came from the Netherlands and I am in the United States. I'm using Ting as my provider. When I go to setup a custom APN it is missing fields like IP type. Seems to work as an Edge device here. I'm wondering if I should reset the phone entirely. Maybe it is getting settings originally from the Netherlands?

Another question is, when might the United States be getting an official version such that I can use LTE with it?

And lastly, it seems to me that it is geared to sync with Google services which I don't use. It seems to me that Canonical should have their own built in email app that covers general uses like POP/IMAP in addition to popular providers like Yahoo/AOL/Google. Is there some kind of roadmap that gives a little detail on where this is all heading?

Is this a BQ Ubuntu Phone or the BQ Android version? The two phone devices might be Aquaris E4.5 but the screens are different because Ubuntu phone does not require an on-screen button.

The Ubuntu phone does have an Email app or it should be getting one. I think that it is called Dekko.

The apps on Ubuntu phone, including the phone core apps, are all community developed. Canonical has opened the door wide to community developers and provides assistance such as advice on design and supported hack days.

So, when it comes to apps on Ubuntu devices we should not think in terms of "Canonical should do this" or "Canonical should do that."

It is the BQ Ubuntu Edition, not an Android phone.

Yup, I have Dekko. While it is okay it needs a lot of work. As they say there are bugs.

If Canonical wants this to be successful, they'll need to do more than just leave it to the community. Don't get me wrong, it's a great start. It truly is. But it also needs a great deal of work.
