I was wondering if it's possible to run ide's and other development software such as matlab, eclipse & QT creator on my tablet throught the ubuntu OS? Just wondering. thinking about switching.

Did you ever try it out? I was wondering if the BQ Aquaris M10 can run Eclipse IDE in Convergence Desktop mode?

I'm interested in this before I make a purchase of the Aquaris tablet. Else I get a proper laptop like a yoga and use desktop 16.04

Get yourself a decent laptop first. This is an ARM-based tablet with 2 GB of RAM.
