Potential target devices

Guys, you can find some really great international hardware to make Ubuntu touch for. I personally can't program, but I'm taking Harvard's CS50 to learn C, and I think you could do something awesome with this tablet: http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/20a3/

This is a user forum. That is all it is.

Ubuntu is open source so there is nothing stopping anyone from porting Ubuntu to other suitable devices. There is even a porting guide for doing it. But from what I understand about the plans of Canonical regarding mobiles devices, Canonical has no intention itself of porting Ubuntu to the great variety of mobile devices already on the market.

The intention of Canonical from the beginning was to get Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) interested in producing and selling Ubuntu mobile devices and then working with OEMs to provide the OS for them to install on their hardware.

It is it that method that has brought the BQ Ubuntu phone to market and hopefully, the same method will bring other Ubuntu mobile devices to market as well.

However, the limited range of devices, and limited range of device abilities and hardware, may actually turn down potential sellers. I know that if I were trying to sell a phone, I would not choose an operating system that has not proven that it would work with a wide variety of different circumstances, and had not currently proven it can work on LTE or LTE advanced. The more devices it goes on, the more you prove that it will work with a wide variety of different inputs, proving that it would better adapt to the user. Also, older devices such as the Nexus four, are very poorly known, and won't bring much attention to the OS

As grahammechanical said, this is a user forum. That is, the membership, staff included, consists of volunteers who aim to help each other with their Ubuntu systems. This is not the place to contact Canonical with regard to their marketing strategy.
