00:21 GMT Log into the forum, no problem there however; quick links > new post : results in " Ubuntu Forums is down for maintenance " .

Thus far directly accessing the subforums I find no fault(s).

what we do to help

#3

I did see some quirks earlier but was not able to catch a screenshot. Just some text at the top of the page in FF&H. Something like "warning something" Sorry can't remember all the text

#4

Look'n good .

I logged into the forum this AM .. and still with a broken link on "new post". I logged out and cleared my cache ( google-chrome) .. and logged back into the forum .. Now the "new post" link completes as expected .

happy days are here again

Ouch, maybe ?

What is up with attempting to reply to PM on the forum I am getting: " You don't have permission to access /private.php on this server. >> Apache/2.4.7 (Ubuntu) Server at ubuntuforums.org Port 443 " What is up with this .. Original query : https://ubuntuforums.org/private.php?do=showpm&pmid=2517272 That I am unable to post the response.

just when we thought

Just replied to this thread:

https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2330148

and now I can see my new post in both the 'Activity' stream and on the first page of 'Today's Posts' but when I click on the thread the added post doesn't appear to be there

#7

steeldriver we saw that happen in the past also, try changing your posts per page settings as a workaround. I have been using 30

just when we thought

I've just replied to a PM, and it worked. Can you try again (we wont be able to access that link, PMs are private ;))

Reload the page maybe ?

Thanks all :)

bapoumba; Thanks, appreciate all your hard effort.

A new attempt and the result is the same to respond to the originationg PM .. Furthermore clicking " go advanced" also results in the re-direct to the "Forbidden >> You don't have permission to access /private.php on this server. >> Apache/2.4.7 (Ubuntu) Server at ubuntuforums.org Port 443 .

I was able to post a PM - me as the originator - to howefield.

Something strange is going on here.

respects;

Old one revisited: bapoumba; overdrank;

Nope IRT: https://ubuntuforums.org/newreply.php?p=13517884&noquote=1 attempting to reply results in " Ubuntuforums.org is temporarily down at the moment." page, after a very long wait time.

still with snakes to stomp ??

#13

Works here, can you try again please ?

#14

bapoumbal Do not know what is going on .. The thread responses, here and one other https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2330868&p=13518259#post13518259 that timed out .. did post .. in this one is a duplication .

Let's see now if this reply completes .

stranger and stranger

Thanks that worked

Same here,,,It works

#17

So far ... not so good. I still experience an inability to reply to a particular PM. Thus far this time all else is functional.

maybe yes

could be not so yes

OK here's another one

 • wrote a quite detailed reply
 • hit 'Go Advanced' to preview it + check the formating
 • preview shows but message editor is completely empty - won't let me post (message to short)
 • browse back and apparently the text is gone from there as well, no "restore autosaved content"

Grrr

That happened to me also yesterday steeldriver, both in threads as in PMs.

#20

Seems to be quite repeatable for me - preview eats the content, paste it back in, press preview - it's gone again. Rinse. Repeat.

Already added to our, now extensive, report sheet to IS.

#22

I get permissions error when trying to subscribe to threads. Also not able to upload attachments.

uRock said: I get permissions error when trying to subscribe to threads. Also not able to upload attachments.

Upload attachments we know, subscribe to threads is an intermittent problem (happened to me, then I could subscribe to the same thread later on).

Edit : thanks uRock and everyone :)

#24

I get a 403 [IOErrorEvent type="ioError" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Error #2038"] when trying to upload attachments, well that is what is displayed when I let my cursor hover over the little error bubble

I have to use the Basic Upload option to add Attachments.

#26

glitch;

Attempted to post in response to thread: https://ubuntuforums.org/newreply.php?p=13518503&noquote=1 results in : " Forbidden >> You don't have permission to access /newreply.php on this server. >> Apache/2.4.7 (Ubuntu) Server at ubuntuforums.org Port 443 " ,. Where prior to this I have made replies in other threads.

not so yes

#27

Bashing-om seems to be an issue with advanced reply as I put a test post in using quick reply and deleted it. I had same issue with advanced reply

#28

@jeremy31; Uh Huh ..

Yepper, that ^ did indeed get the reply posted ..

thanks ( Tucker_Cahooterthanks you too )

#29

zfr, reply now works rather than getting a 403 forbidden I was getting on all means of posting. https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2330919&page=5&p=13519394#post13519394 I did complete the post with "restore" and not complete the edit to that reply .

Strange things still happening .

#30

Yes, reports and uploading pics work now :) Posting issues are hard to find and fix it seems.
