Anyone remember the easy gui way that once was available for conky, some years ago. Is it still around and where?

It seems conky works poorly with newer version of linux :-/ Any suggestions for replacement of conky?
After v. 1.10 there were syntax changes that made older themes obsolete . You have change the syntax of the old themes or get new themes for the latest version. There are various posts on what to change on different forums, but I've not found all the answers in one place.
