Ubuntu 24.04

Like some non-techie folks I was very curious about the changes that the new version would bring and whether the computers that my group maintains would be able to handle the new stuff so when it was released, I downloaded the ISO. (Actually I downloaded the ISOs for all of the flavors because we occasionally get calls to install some of them.) After a flawless installation on one of my computers and using it for five days, I was impressed. We have an Installfest approaching in two weeks so my group was divided as to which LTS to use, because there always seem to be glitches that pop up after the release of a new version. Well not this time. At least none that I could find.

I am a U-Budgie user and haven't seen any problems since the final release. I did battle with the installer during the development cycle though.

If you need stability, you really should wait for the .1 release, due August. I've been seeing a lot of posts with serious problems, albeit that almost all of them are upgrades from 22.04 and not fresh installations. (The upgrades were forced, because Ubuntu only offers an upgrade when the .1 release comes out.)
