i agree, wrong place....

but still... just go into the terminal and type "gnome-panel"

(assuming that was your only panel, if it wasn't then just right click on ur remianing panel and click 'new panel" and re-add whatever you previously had on it (right click again and "add to Panel" ))

don't feel stupid, everyone starts somewhere :D

In the applications menu, go to "accessories" and "terminal" should be near the bottom of that menu.

To make it easier for you, you could create a shorcut on the desktop....basically right click on the desktop, and choose "create launcher" choose any name you want (i.e. terminal) then in the command box type "gnome-terminal" for an icon, you can use whatever icon you want. I suggest one that looks like a terminal, like this one here http://delfick755.googlepages.com/terminal.png just download that to a folder somewhere, then in the create launcher dialog thing, click the "no icon" button, then browse to the folder where you have your icon, and choose that icon. Then press ok

then you double click the shortcut and terminal comes up :D
