Welcome back to my computer Ubuntu :D
I feel like I have returned home again. This evening I tried Suse 10.2 alpha5 i386.... ARGGGGHH!!!
Is it just me, or have they completely f***** everything up... AGAIN?!
That stupid new KDE 'menu' as they like to call it - talk about "If it ain't broken, we are gonna fix it ANYHOW!" - must be their motto. And at THIS late in the day, my intel HDA soundcard STILL doesn't work - Ubuntu can do it and SO can Mandriva - what *IS* SUSE up to??.
And then... I go to set up AIGLX/XGL and it says my 915m card isn't in the XGL database?!
WTTTFFFFF?!!!!!!!!!!
I have aiglx working like a dream in Mandriva 2007 Powerpack - whattttt issss goinnng onnnn :(.
I know it is only an ALPHA but Novell are a BIG commercial company, and I would have thought they'd sorted it BY NOW.
Well done to Ubuntu and Mandriva for sorting out the HDA intel sound driver (ALSA) and the XGL / AIGLX
ESPECIALLY Ubuntu my favourite distro so far!!! Just wish the Fat cat distros could learn from this.
If anyone knows what is going on, please, DO TELL!!
