I recently heard of the gaybuntu.com site, their efforts to popularize their group within the ubuntu community, and their attempts to launch a forum subsection of their own.
I know that
- this subsection is to make women feel more comfortable in the Ubuntu Community and the Linux Community at large
- this subsection doesn't openly associates itself with feminism
but I'm pretty sure there are plenty of feminist checking this forum, involved in ubuntu-women etc so
I was wondering whether ubuntu-women would be interested in joining gaybuntu group in their attempts to establish their own team.
disclaimer: Neither I nor this idea I present here are affiliated with gaybuntu.com footnote: women's intervention might also influence them to drop their emphasis on gays and give a fair share of area to lesbians as well. note to self: the parallels between the real life and the virtual life are amazing. aren't feminist lesbians fighting within lgbt communities to get their own side properly recognized? :)
