Ubuntu Marketing Needs You!

The Marketing Team needs your help.....

[EDIT NOTE BY JENDA: We do not need new material - we are just trying to collect all there is out there. Thanks]

== current needs, summarized ==

Current Marketing Materials of all kinds, preferably only for 6.06, 6.10, and non-release-specific. Also - we're focusing on the core distro, *Ubuntu,* rather than giving disproportionate weight to the sister projects, although materials for these is still welcome.

== types 'o materials: ==

=== physical ===

• Posters
• Flyers
• Brochures
• Buttons
• CD stands/displays
• Stickers, to a lesser extent (we're not looking for negative attention)
• Press Release guides

=== virtual/web ===

• web Buttons
• web Banners

== in what format? ==

*commercial printer-friendly material is also welcome, but preferably accompanied by source files in free formats... required if under GPL

• PNG, JPG, SVG, XCF, ODT, etc... anything *buntu-friendly
• gathered together into tarballs ...until we get a repo up and running

if you are interested contact meatballhat, jenda or me

Thanks!

Sweet. I throw some stuff together in GIMP tonight. Will post tomorrow.

Where is the repository for current advertising materials? Like if I wanted to print out a flyer or a poster? or even order a few buttons? I would like to spread Ubuntu CE or Edubuntu to families at my church group and some of that stuff would be nice.

One note, also added to the OP: We're currently trying to unify the existing resources. We aren't asking for new material. There is a lot out there.

Hendrixski: the current repository is the DIYMarketing page on the wiki. It's seriously outdated. Also try to have a browse through doc.ubuntu.com/~marketing - that's where we're trying to collect the stuff now.

This is precisely why we're calling for help in gathering materials :D There is currently no single, organized source for such materials, and it is therefore our hope at the Marketing Team to fulfill this need. The expected rollout is late January 2007, and current snapshots may be viewed here: http://diy.devubuntu.com

A temporary repository has been set up on the wiki: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DIYMarketing

You will also see a "Submission Queue," but don't get too hasty :D ... As Jenda stated above, we are primarily looking for help with collection of extant materials, and the submission of *new materials* will not become a priority until after the diy marketing site goes live.
