There has been some interest in creating teams withing our LoCo team.

Here are the teams we see a need for:

_1. Web-Team (assigned)_ Team Leader - Dan Buch Team: Jacob92, PWill, RRittenhouse https://launchpad.net/people/ohio-web-team

_2. Communication Guru(s) - unassigned_ This/These team members will need to ensure information is shared on all fronts web/forum/wiki/mailing list. This will include moderator capabilities on http://ohioloco.ubuntuforums.org https://launchpad.net/people/oh-communications

_3. Ohio Marketing Team - unassigned_ Need one leader and as many team members as possible. Will include assignments such as http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=320182 This is a position of glory and high recognition! https://launchpad.net/people/oh-marketing

One leader and as many members as possible. This team will be devoted to obtaining CD's (burning, publishing, requesting). This team will also be responsable for finding and placing CD's in physical locations in the State. Also, mapping these locations and publishing them (CD's available at Barnes and Noble in Pickerington....) https://launchpad.net/people/oh-cd

This can be one person, or a group of people. This group will be devoted to fabulizing our wiki pages on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/OhioTeam https://launchpad.net/people/oh-wiki

This can be as many people who are interested. We need to have a strong support group as there will be an influx of new users who will need our support. https://launchpad.net/people/oh-new

 1. CD Team - Unassigned
 2. Wiki Team - Unassigned
 3. New User Support Team - Unassigned

If you are interested, shoot me an email or pm on the forums:D

For my part, I'm really pleased with the Teams Steve has plotted out. Given, some Teams will have more difficult responsibilities than others, but I think this is just fine - not all LoCo Team members can afford to donate the same amount of time. Thanks to Steve! :D

What exactly does "fabulizing our wiki pages" entail?

That is a wonderful question!

There is a laundry list of things that need on our wiki: Team info (website, mailing list, forums, etc..) Roadmap ToDo list Contributions Announcements Meeting info and logs sub team info and on and on....

some examples of Fabulized LoCo wiki pages: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UKTeam https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ChicagoTeam https://wiki.ubuntu.com/AustralianTeam

I would be glad to help out, although school will probably prevent me from spending as much time as I would like assisting. I can see myself being a member of either the Communication or the Wiki team.

BTW, should I register as a team member on the Launchpad site?

Requested to join the CD team. I put in an order to Shipit for a large number of Dapper CDs... X86 CDs. I will request X86_64 and PPC disks if needed.

I can easily cover East Central Ohio through my work. We travel a lot.

Does the technical support team have a quick reference database for common fixes? :IE Broadcomm , Nvidia issues?

If there was a database with common issues that may be asked in the IRC room, and quick references that walk a user through (if all possible) through the GUI to resolve problems. I think this would be very beneficial. I know many who hunt for ways to fix problems, run into issues where you can get 4 different ways to do one thing, But since it can't be verified unless tested first.

One thing that drives me nuts is I'll find all these possible fixes, but because the person who wrote the tech doc has special configurations, beyond a standard clean install, they 9 times out of ten don't work. Also the videos presented you are planning on working on also might cover maybe a few of these one's on the DVD.

I know you would need to have testing done, since I am a computer store, I have access to multiple sorts of hardware. I can build and test and verify fixes submitted. Just don't know what type of online database you could use?
