Thanks for this guide, but everyone please note the the repository that should be added is:

deb http://gandalfn.club.fr/ubuntu edgy dev

not

deb http://gandalfn.club.fr/ubuntu edgy stable

Gandalfn is only maintaining the dev repository now because of time pressure due to his development work on Fiesty. If you try to apt-get the compiz extra packages from the 'stable' repository, you won't find them, so please use the dev repository only.
