Count me in, I'm in Tucson.

#3

Tucson here too. A neighborly hello to crispy_420 and all other potential Arizona members.

#4

#5

#7

Coming in from Queen Creek here. :)

#8

Greetings from Phoenix!

#9

Greetings from Indianapolis! Long time AZ resident until a recent relocation. Good Luck with your new endeavor.

:guitar:

#10

Hey from Tucson. I'm a long-time Linux user, and I've been drinking *buntu juice since Hoary 5.04 (I think I helped beta test that one, IIRC).

I probably don't have time to do any install-fests (did that with TLUG and it was kinda lame), but I can support AZLoCo efforts through word of mouth marketing.

#11

Tempe here. What is the point of all of this?

#12

Tucson Ubuntu Edgy Eft user here. Was hoping someone would open up a LoCo in Az. Congrats.

#13

Greets and Shout Outs from Queen Creek here!

Johnson Ranch neighborhood (almost) which to people in Phoenix may as well be Coolidge or Tuscon for all they know!

Hi All,

But first --

desertpenquin -- weren't you part of a LUG in PHX?

Well, I'm in PHX, and have run a bunch of Linux Distros. I'll have to sign up for the Newletter, and IRC chat.

#21

Hey everyone, Phoenix here too! Nice to see ther's finally a AZ Team.

#22

Hey, I would like to join the team if I can ;)

#23

Hi, Sedona here. I'm fairly new to linux, noob to Ubuntu, this seems like a good place for help, I'll probably be in Absolute Beginners Talk alot. I'll have to join the Az. team.

#24

Tucson for me. I'm new to ubuntu. I would love to completely replace windows with it, but I don't know enough yet. I'd love to, and would love all the help i can get

#25

Sweet! It's about time. I'm the one that created the wiki page initially - it sat there for awhile, but now it's great to see other people interested. I'm in East Mesa. Count me in.

#26

Are there any team members that attend the monthly west side PLUG meetings? I am planning on checking it out this month and wanted to know someone that could give me some info on the atmosphere. Thnks.

#27

From Tucson as well. Been wondering when the AZ team would start. Been using Ubuntu since 5.10. Definitely interested in any meetings, as well as learn from and help others.

#28

From Tucson too. I've been messing with Linux for around 5 years now. I'm using Ubuntu, Kubuntu, and Xubunto on the same machine right now. Just installed Xubuntu again, and will probably use it the most.

#29

looks like i'm the only one in yuma. :o though i've been spotting people on the AWC campus researching ubuntu, so i know there's hope here yet...

not sure how much time i can contribute, but i'd love to be a part of this.

#30

I thought I'd replied to this already, but I guess not.

I'm in Sahuarita, land of the fake suburbs. :)

#31

tucson here. it's nice to see locals post on here. i've been switching over everyone's pc i fix to ubuntu ( with their permission of course ) and they couldn't be happier at how well their machines run after having them for well over 6 years. some of those boxes had windows ME on them. so i've been spreading the word in tucson as well :)

pretty cool i guess since i've only been using ubuntu for about 2 months on my lappy. i can't install it on my main box for some reason.

#33

get IRC you bums

#34

i second that motion; freenode #ubuntu-arizona :D if nothing else, idle there!

#35

soon as i get my desktop up and running i'll idle all day. i've been on idling on irc since the mid 90's

#36

if I remember I will be there...

#37

It seems like the 90s are back so fix your comp and get in here!

#38

This is a quick message to you Tucson bums. You know as well as I know there is nothing else better to do out here. You might as well join the growing party on IRC and idle for a while, maybe even throw out a few words.

#39

Hey,

A lot of us don't hang out on IRC, do IM, or even have an iPod. LOL!

We are working on other things, but having fun all along the way!

Adler

#40

really!? there's other things to do in this town

no but seriously; ubuntu does not like my pc at all runs like it's running windows me no a 200mhz pc. spent two weeks trying to figure out why. i had 6.10 wouldn't even boot. i had to alt install 6.06-->6.10-->7.04 and it now boots but takes ages and runs like a slug.

oh well :(

ubuntu runs beautifully on my lappy though :)

i'll be on irc tonight.

#41

Just curious, if it runs crappy why do you use it?

#42

on my desktop yes, but on my laptop it runs beautifully, i'll never run anything else on it.

i figure i'll use ubuntu on my laptop till i'm at the point with it that i am with in xp and then build another ubuntu compatible desktop.

#43

New guy here, already idling in the IRC channel (I'm ianmcorvidae there).

I'm a high school student in Tucson; go to University High, for anyone who knows Tucson. Just switched over to Ubuntu in January 2007 when my computer decided to stop working entirely with Windows XP; I'm now hooked enough I don't think I'll go back.

Anyway, glad to see you folks, and hopefully we can get something started. Heck, if we don't by summer, I might get bored enough over vacation to do it myself.
