Hi

I have customized my own Ubuntu edgy disc using this guide https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCDCustomization/6%2e06

If I install the programs I like and make the image it is quite small. If I then follow the instructions on how to display the GDM and make some very minor changes (menu layout and theme) it adds an extra gig to my image size.

Anyone know why and/or how i can keep my image size down but still customize the Desktop?

What version of Beryl did you install, I am running 0.2 preview which mostly runs with out problems on edgy with Nvidia 7800gt

Also, try running the Beryl manager (with out running the desktop) and turn every thing off, then see if it loads. If it does, turn on features one by one.

I had problems with the trailing windows effect crashing my computer, I turned it off and now it runs fine. Every thing else works fine too.
