Linking people to resources they need.

I'm sitting here at my desk, looking at a stack of computer books I don't use anymore and thought to myself, Wouldn't it be nice to donate these to someone who could use them? Then I thought, Hey I've also got a couple spare hard drives I'm not using, why not donate those as well?

In the "spirit of Ubuntu", I plan to give them away. (Cheesy, I know ;)) But, who do I give them to? This is where you guys come in. If you or someone you know could use these items, post back. Likewise, if you could spare something, let someone know.

How about your local school? That's where I (and my employers) donate stuff we no longer use.

Where do you live (Country/City)?

Or, more in general: schools, some NGOs, your local linux/free software groups...

I must say, po0f, this is a really cool thing for you to do. If you don't mind, I'm in the market for a hard drive. I've got a computer that I'm trying to set up as a server, but it's only got a 4 GB hard drive. This probably goes without saying, but these hard drives are PATA (rather than SATA), right?

Yes, all the drives are P-ATA.

I don't know how long the 20/30G ones are going to last, they are kinda old and haven't been used in a year, but I've been using the 80G up until Friday. First come, first serve! PM me and we'll try to set something up.

I could use the Perl or the Java book, been meaning to learn java, and Perl seems more and more necessary as well. Too bad the drives are ATA, just bought a spiffy older ml570 but they pulled all the drives from it :( I live in Indianapolis myself, if the books are still available let me know, and thanks regardless if the are or not :)
