I was running compiz fine for a couple of days with all the effects running properly and out of the blue I try to start it up again in XGL and I get this:

peter@peter-laptop:~$ compiz-tray-icon

(compiz-tray-icon:11730): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid (NULL) pointer instance

(compiz-tray-icon:11730): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_signal_connect_data: assertion `G_TYPE_CHECK_INSTANCE (instance)' failed

(compiz-tray-icon:11730): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid (NULL) pointer instance

(compiz-tray-icon:11730): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_signal_connect_data: assertion `G_TYPE_CHECK_INSTANCE (instance)' failed

I'm a n00b to linux so I'm afrain I don't know where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
