Hey, could you tell me what the version number the Beryl update was?

I recently installed the .1.9999.2 update (I got burned by the .1.9999.1 update and had to force .1.99.2) and it made my 3D acceleration go all screwy. Then I started kernel panicking. So I've reinstalled edgy (separate /home partition for the win!) but haven't installed Beryl as the last version I knew about didn't agree with my system.

If it's a new version, I will give it another go.

[edit] I have the 0.2.0 version now, but it is still doing the no 3D accel thing. I guess I'll have to go with compiz or something if I want fun eye candy

I'm having the same problems. I was perfectly content with whatever the last release candidate i used was, but now half my special effects don't work.

Anyone know how to regress?

the Expose like features aren't working on my machine since upgrading to 2.0

Have you tried logging out and then restarting X? Something like this happened to me once after an update none of the plugins were working. Logging out and restarting X did the trick.

After some piddling around, I've found that I lose my animations when the desktop is transparent. I had a rather cool desktop in which my background was completely transparent, allowing me to view the windows on other desktops. Unfortunately, in 0.2, animations seem to disappear with this setup. Restoring full opacity on my desktop has restored animations.

Unless this is going to be fixed, I'd still like to regress to the last release candidate, if anyone can tell me how.
