I'm using the 1.0.9755 nvidia driver with a 5500fx card. For some reason with XGL I get an fps of around 200 and no matter what, I can't get the fps above 75 on nvidia- accelerated or AIGLX. These FPS were measured by beryl's benchmark plugin. "glxgears -printfps" shows around 1000fps. (Iittle confused)
No one's been able to give me a straight answer on if this is normal or what could be my problem.

Using "glxgears -printfps" without beryl gets 2500fpg and with beryl - 1000fps. This is without XGL.
It slows down when Beryl loads without XGL. Any idea?
Maybe the FPS is limited to the refresh rate?
so true...i don't understand it either. I love XGL. it works perfectly, and much faster. on feisty, it will be exclusively AIGLX becuase everyone always says its so much faster but it isn't for me. I hope i'll stil be able to get xgl working on feisty once it comes out.
You will be able to get XGL working on Feisty..I just want direct rendering and the greatness of XGL. I don't see that happening though. I would really like to bypass XGL, but it's just not fast enough for me.
