yo i just installed beryl and its working great. but in the settings when you can select rain, no rain comes up? and isent there supposed to be a snow selection?? i dont see it. help anyone??

you need to toggle it on I think its alt F8 if i remember correctly
i know bout rain, but where do i get the snow effect? i cant find it!
nothing happens when i cntrl F9. cntrl f9 is what my rain shortcut is set to.
Click the beryl icon >beryl settings manager> Extra > Click water effects if it is not clicked. Also in the settings there are short cuts, the short cut for rain is Shift + F9.

snow is Super+F3
To get the Snow option in Extras, you must install Beryl Unsupported Plugins from Synaptic.
thanks paul i got the snow under extras now, i checked it and under key shorcuts it sais super+F3 but when i superF3 nothing happens?
Hmmm....I presume you know that the "Super" key is what is also called the Windows or Start key (between left Ctrl and left Alt). Otherwise, I can only suggest you reboot and try again.
yeah haha. but ever since i installed beryl i dont think my windows key is working anymore? cuz i jusdt noticed it dosent work to open a terminal eaither. i had my term shortcut set as super.
That's a real pity. I had a similar problem with Beryl in that my left Arrow key would not function any more but worked only as "Pause" in RhythmBox. This seems to be because Shift-Left Arrow is a shortcut for Pause and seems to have "confused" Beryl. However it's not such a big problem for me as I can still use the Numpad left arrow key if I need to. In addition, by using Systems>Preferences>Keyboard>Layout>Reset to Defaults, I was able to "momentarily" get back the usual function of the Left Arrow key for a short while until "something" disabled it again. Unfortunately, I was never able to find out what the "something" was. However, as I've said already, it really wasn't such a big problem for me so the incentive for fixing it was less than in your case. Perhaps some of these comments may be of use to you. Alternatively, you could post your problem to the Beryl Forum. Good luck.
