Hi everyone,

I am thinking about getting an external tft diplay. I want to get an 22'' TFT with an native resolution of 1680 x 1050. I just want to make sure that I can use the native resolution, because the command 915resolution -l doesn't list anything bigger than 1280x1024. I don't know if this only covers the internal 13'' tft ....

Thanks for any reply!

Bye, Den

Running 915resolution -l only tells you the resolutions that are pre-programmed into you video BIOS. The purpose of the 915resolution software is to overcome that limitation, so you wouldn't expect the command you used to find the resolution you need unless the display is actually attached.

As for whether your Mac can drive the resolution you're looking for, I have no personal experience. I haven't tried my Mini with anything higher than 1366x768, and 915resolution automatically finds and uses that resolution for me.

Can you try taking your Mac to the shop where you plan to buy the display?
