I don't know why, but I'm just one of those people who likes to have a pretty picture while the computer is loading rather than all the code, I'd rather just have the code in the background and be able to bring it up when I need to troubleshoot

so if someone could please help me out I need to know how to install a bootsplash on slackware 11.0, I have already installed the bootsplash package, assuming that might help and I am trying to use this theme: http://www.kde-look.org/content/download.php?content=36611&id=1

There is a readme and a file on how to install it in there, however I don't speak whatever language it's in

thanks in advance

Is your kernel fixed to accommodate a bootsplash? Just a random thought.

http://www.bootsplash.org/Kernel

" * To use the Linux bootsplash screen, you have to recompile your kernel. The bootsplash patch is available for 2.4.18-2.4.22 and 2.6.0-test9. The patches should also apply to newer versions of the Linux kernel."

Follow these instructions and let me know how it turns out.
