Need help install Autonanic (Vehicular Deathmatch game)

I downloaded the binary for Automanic v0.2 and it doesn't seem to work. I've tried everything in the readme, but I don't think I've done it right. Here's the URL for it http://automanic.sourceforge.net/index.html if you want to check it out. It's also in the Ubuntu Native Games Guide Thanks

Try launch the binary file from the terminal.

cd /into/the/folder ./binary

It doesn't seem to work. Is there any other way?

Well obviously the Nvida CG version requires the Nvida CG libraries which need to be downloaded and compiled: http://developer.nvidia.com/object/cg_toolkit.html#downloads

But... I'm guessing you downloaded the recommended version which I'll download and test right now.

I'll let you know if I can get the other binary working or if compiling from source is needed.

thanks. At this moment installing things through the Terminal have gone a bit wonky for me. Opera messed up my system.

Sorry I never got back to this, I've been quite busy.

I was able to get the CG version working perfectly, but as I mentioned before you'll have to install the nvidia cg toolkit: http://developer.nvidia.com/object/cg_toolkit.html#downloads

I'll try to write out a better explaination after work one day this week.
