Second... Ubuntu is so ridiculously easy to install, that I wouldn't PAY to have it installed. I'd just buy a computer without the OS... but maybe that's just me. Anyone else feel the same way?

I think that this is important for the reason that it will be able to be had off the shelf from a major supplier. Yes, you and I can install the OS without any problems. How nice will it be for those that want to start using Linux, and Ubuntu in particular, without the intimidation factor of having to install the OS? It'll be right there for them to use after turning on the PC.
This will also be nice for the support aspect. It's coming from a company that users already know, and they have someone to call on as needed.
My biggest fear on this is that the machines that are chosen will be in the higher price range models thus blocking some potential purchases.
