Not to discourage any involvement or support in Ubuntu or LoCo, but please check out the Vermont Area Group of Unix Enthusiasts (VAGUE) at <http://www.uvm.org/vague/>. We've been active for a few years now, holding monthly or bi-monthly meetings, and with a good mailing list.
