Can anyone recommend good software for digital video editing, i.e. an equivalent to Windows MovieMaker. Thanks.

I use kino. Some like it, some don't, but it suits all my needs for home video editing.

I also have been using KINO, it seems to be pretty good. Unfortunately I have to say I have'nt found a program that is as simple to use as Movie Maker. I feel bad giving MS the credit there. PITIVI seems to be the closest, but I can't get it to let me save at all.

kino is good for must people. if you want top end NLE then I always use cinelerra

they have builds for ubuntu although for some reason I can't get the fiesty version working on my box - although the edgy repo works fine..
