Extended Hibernation

I received my 1505n a couple of days ago. Yay! But, am having a little trouble waking the system up from hibernation. Once it hits hibernation mode, I come back and hit a key, sometimes a bunch of keys, and the screen just stays white. I hooked up an external monitor to the system while the screen was white, the external monitor worked fine, and eventually the system 'woke up.' This is happening about 50% of the time I return to the computer when it is in hibernation.

I have downloaded and installed the 915resolution mod, and have updated the Ubuntu with the updater. I have not installed anything else on the computer. When the problem first happened I thought it may be a hardware issue and called Dell, they said I could return it or they can send a tech out.

Is anyone else having trouble, or might anyone know a settings/mod fix? New to Linux and not sure how to fix the problem. Other than this minor issue everything is working great!

This is happening to me as well, I have a 6400 and sometime in hibernate when I try to wake it up it does not wake up it just turns on the backlight and locks up. Another issue I am having is suspend, if you try to put it into suspend it goes into more of a coma that it never seems to come out of unless you reboot.

I believe these are not just issues with the Dell laptops as much as they are an issue with Ubuntu Linux in general. They just haven't gotten all of the bugs worked out of that part of the system. I think now that it is going to be put on more laptops though that it will become more of a focus for the development community if I am not mistaken. I used to use OpenSuSe before I used Ubuntu and since they are a subsidiary of SuSE they had a little more developement I think and so they had the suspend and hibernate thing almost down with just a few bugs. I think a fix is on it's way it just may not be until the next release.
