I have posted several questions to this forum in the past several months and have never received a response. There are a few simple things that I would have liked to have gotten answers to but, again, there has never been an answer. Is there a way that I have to phrase my question so that it is tempting for someone to interact with that I am missing? Is there something else that I am missing here. Any feedback at all would be appreciated. I want to know how to use this forum to help me and eventually others.

After looking through your past (3) posts, it seems that there are two reasons for this and is simply due to the informal structure that has risen up to help manage the overwhelming volume of activity that the ubuntu forum receives:
Number one, posting a new question at the end of someone elses answered question. Once a question is answered most of the people involved in the thread ignore any further posts to it.
Number two, posting replys to your own message-- there is a group that specifically looks for unanswered posts to answer, so if your post was passed for whatever reason, the team that would catch it will assume that it has been answered.
