need xubuntu cd

I live in buffalo new york I dont have a cd burner So i was wondering if some cud mail me the cd or something I requested them them from ubuntu ship it they it will take 6 weeks.

Yeah, there's this company called ondisk.com and that's what they do. they ship cd's of linux distro's to people.

I was taken with Xubuntu's look/feel, too, and from reading the Absolute Beginner forum I learned that one can go into synaptic, search-->All by "name" using "xubuntu" as the search term.

Mark for installation the appropriate packages, and then on log-in, you choose the "Xfce" session. This can also be made the default session, so you'll always get Xubuntu/Xfce log in.

Of course, it's also good to have an installation CD.
