This is the discussion thread for Ubuntu-Kentucky's Installfest 2008.

Wiki Page is here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KentuckyTeam/InstallFest2008

So far, we have decided that we will have the InstallFest on January 12th, from 3PM-6PM.

This thread is for discussions of things we did right and wrong during the last installfest, suggestions for improvement, various plans we're making for the installfests, and to show off how you're plugging the LoCo.

I think the avatar I have could be printed as a yard sign, along with an Local Ubuntu advertisement for the group. Each member of the team could post one in their yard.

I can find a bigger version of the image if interested.

Is this going to be held in Louisville?

Unfortunately, no. However, I'm in Louisville and i will be attending this event. I'll offer to carpool up to 3 people from Louisville.

For Louisville events, I would really like to get the "Cup of Ubuntu" thing up and running, but no one seems interested.

Zuph, I would really be interested in a event in Louisville.

There's a stickied thread at the top of the forum. Post in it! :)

For this thing to work we really need to start planning for it now. Please get involved with the planning. Would it be better to do all planning here, irc, or mailing list? I am open to any of them or all of them but for us to be able to pull this off when we have planned to we need to start doing stuff now.

I vote for all of them. I have very little time to devote to irc, but I check my email and the forums regularly.

It would be helpful if any important developments were summarized and sent to the mailing list, that way everyone is sure to receive them. I usually don't make it to meetings because of school and work, but I regularly check my email....

There is a mailing list thread started at https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-us-ky/2007-December/000153.html to continue to discuss this event.
