Often when I'm booting up my computer to play WoW or just do some quick web browsing I don't always take the time to look at updates that are at the top with the orange icon.

I know this isn't safe as there could be important security updates in there but I don't want to be bugged with trivial updates of some random program and just update at the end of the week if I can.

Therefore i would like to suggest that it would be useful if the update notification icon would turn red if there were important security updates rather than just the regular orange to add some priority.

I think it is a great Idea.

Great Idea, but you can have the update-manager automatically install all available updates in the background

I could do that but I normally don't like to install kernel updates right away as they have wrecked my system before so I usually like to wait a few days.

I'm not exactly sure what caused it, but I used to get updates that always changed my default kernel back to -rt which meant I had to reboot to get wireless to work. I finally just uninstalled the -rt, but yeah, those things can be a pain.

+1 for color coding!
