I'm making a custom Google search engine for Ubuntu Solutions and I was wondering if any member of the Unanswered Posts Team could recommend me any additional "Ubuntu Solutions" type websites. The custom search can be found here:

http://www.google.com/coop/cse?cx=001461844748502826593:hh-ikmexth4

Please note that I do not want to simply use the Linux Google search (http://www.google.com/linux), I want to point it towards Ubuntu-specific sites that are geared to answering questions or giving tutorials.

I have added the following (please let me know if you recommend that I add or remove anything from this list).

ubuntu.wordpress.com debian.org lists.ubuntu.com ubuntu-unleashed.com http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/* debian-administration.org http://www.linuxformat.co.uk/wiki/* linux.die.net ubuntu1501.com launchpad.net ubuntuguide.org help.ubuntu.com wiki.ubuntu.com gnome.org http://www.ss64.com/bash/ justlinux.com ultimateedition.info linuxsolved.com ubuntuforums.com netadmintools.com linux.dell.com

That is very nice, im sure a lot of users could benefit from this. I think that a sticky about this custom google search could be beneficial... somewhere where many users would see it...

It could be added to the "New to Ubuntu?" sticky in Absolute Beginner Talk: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=801404

Let me or another staff member know if you want the link in that topic or if you see another place for it.

You may also use www.uboontu.com

I find uboontu.com too restrictive compared to the custom search. I get much better results with the custom search. From what I can see uboontu.com only goes to the forums, launpad and ubuntu.com. Beyond that it's the name play and the advertisements don't float my boat....

:)

Feel free to link this up in a sticky!

It does seem rather restrictive for an Ubuntu search engine. Anyway, I've added your coop search into the ABT sticky.

What about this one? Or this? Try searching google for Ubuntu search engine before creating one. There are tons already.

Well it's the first I hear of crunchbang, but I had heard of ubuntuwire. They both also seem restrictive compared to this custom search. If anyone comes across sites which posts solutions to issues on Ubuntu please post them on this thread so that I may add them to the custom search.
