DO NOT MIND THE TOPIC TITLE, COULDN'T CHANGE IT (or can I?)

Okay, so first I had windows XP install and now I installed Mandriva

Windows XP boots just fine from the GRUB, but Mandriva only loads a tiny bit and then hangs at something like dev1/bf0 device not found

I partitined my disk to give half to XP and half to Mandriva, then installed Mandriva in D:\ which was unpartitioned space, chose "largest available space" and installed

...But why won't it boot now?

I'm not sure. Are you saying it worked for a while and then stopped? Or has it never actually booted successfully?

Mandriva never booted

Here's what it looks like in partition magic

What the heck is wrong?

Can you take a picture of the screen when you're trying to boot Mandriva and it fails? Thanks.

I have similar problem. After initial splash screen and showing "loading linux kernel" the installation hangs with a blank screen. If you have solved the problem, pls post here. TIA
