I have just got the DVD Image of the x64 version of 2008 spring free. Everything goes fine during the install process, then I have to add a user, this goes fine and this is the step before installing Bootloader. After adding a user the Installer hangs and the mouse cannot be used and there is no response from restarting X.

I can't post any logs or anything because when I reboot GRUB Is not there and I have no bootloader (Because the installer crashed before installing a bootloader).

I am running it on the following hardware:

Chipset: nforce 560 GPU: ATI Radeon X1950 PRO PCI-E CPU: AMD Athlon x2 4400+ Memory: 4096MB

Sorry, I'm really not sure what could be causing that :( Have you checked that the disc was a good burn?

#3

Yeah the disc burn was fine and the download was fine. Somebody else has this on the Mandriva forums, though no replies in their thread or mine over there.

Just checked the MD5, this was fine as well.

I'm kinda stuck then :\. You could file a bug on the installer at http://qa.mandriva.com/ .

Okay added report.

I can however install the 32-bit 2008 Powerpack fine, I got it from Linux magazine a few months ago. However it's only 32-bit and I have 4GB Ram.

It would be interesting if you could try the 32-bit edition of 2008 Spring...

I'll download the ISO over the weekend if I have time. I know that 2008 Powerpack doesn't do this.
